Native speaker teachers from England, America, Canada, South Africa, Australia, France and Germany provide good pronunciation, a broad colloquial vocabulary as well as the humor and joy of their culture.
The internationality of our team gives our language school students insight into other cultures.
We are excited to work with children, youth and adults. Our language teaching for children is playful – they learn new words with pictures, which are then used and understood through games. With the youth and adolescents, learning is done while doing smaller and larger projects that show them how much of the language they have already learned and how they can use it.
Who is behind Sphairos? The Sphairos language school was founded in January 1998 under the direction of Katharina Winkler as a language school for children. Over the years, course offerings for youth and adults were added and Sphairos has offered language holidays abroad in Europe since 2006. Katharina Winkler has a Magister degree in Art History and Romance Studies. Part of her studies was completed abroad.

Even as a child, foreign people and their languages fascinated me. I had the advantage early on of gaining a lot of experience because my father did business internationally and so many people with the most diverse cultural backgrounds were coming in and out of our house. That’s why I never hesitated to open a children’s language school in 1998, because I know how fascinated kids can be by foreign people and languages.
Our teachers are all native speakers. When we hire a new trainer, pedagogical training is not a mandatory requirement. Experience they have gained (professional as well as life experience) and an open and radiating personality are especially important for us and I am sure that we all profit from it.
